How to build logistics in a company from scratch - an interview with David Sud\u00edk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We're building a company from scratch. And when I say \"from scratch\", I mean it literally - no processes, no hall, no team. That's where the challenge lies, and that's what fascinates me personally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We sat down with David Sud\u00edk, Logistics Manager at NOBO AUTO, to talk about what it means to manage logistics in the greenfield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A year ago, David left his position as a supervisor of logistics and decided to go into a project that had no security whatsoever. Why did he do it? What was it about it that attracted him? And how do you build logistics processes from scratch? Find out in the first episode of the podcast STORY OF THE SEAT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I asked David why he decided to leave a very comfortable position overlooking the strategic management of multiple races and move partly to South Bohemia. The answer was clear: he wanted to be at the birth of something new. \"I had already implemented SAP, managed operations and strategy, but I had never been there when everything was being created from scratch.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n We often think of logistics as transportation and warehousing, but the reality of greenfield is different. David described to me that for the first few months he was more of a \"construction manager\" than a logistician - involved in the layout of warehouse zones, flow planning, technology selection, and building processes that would work even at the peak of mass production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I'm really intrigued by this. I asked David about the technology we use at NOBO and the answer surprised even me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n David honestly told me that this technological challenge is what he enjoys most about the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We also talked about what it is like to combine the Czech-Chinese environment, both in the office and in the warehouse. David described to me that the key is open communication and respect for differences. The logistics team is made up of people with different backgrounds and experience - from experienced automotive specialists to new faces from other sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n David directly mentioned that he is looking for new colleagues to join his team. He specifically mentioned the positions of planning, customer service and warehouse specialist. He is looking for people who are eager to learn, not afraid of responsibility and can handle uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We ended the interview by asking why someone would want to work at NOBO.
