From theory to practice: First operators in our training zone

With the arrival of spring, I bring you another part of the story of building NOBO AUTO in České Budějovice. This time with a little pause, because in January we celebrated the first year of our company's existence! When I look back at what we have accomplished in the last 14 months, I have to say - it is quite an incredible story that I will remember for the rest of my life.

From the very beginning, when we didn't even have an IČO, through the gradual building of the team, to today, when we have our own production hall, the first production operators and we are on the verge of producing the first seats for BMW. Let's take a look at what has happened in the last few years.

I will start with our business briefing in the Hochšpalíček restaurant, where we presented the progress of all departments to all employees of the company. It was great to see what we have already achieved and where we are heading. Each department showed how they are progressing with the preparations for the start of production. And since we celebrated our first year of existence, we couldn't miss the cake. Seeing the tremendous amount of work we've done makes me really proud of our entire team.

Recruitment of first production operators

Another major milestone was the hiring of the first production operators. On the first day, they received special training from all departments so that they knew exactly how our entire company works and what role they would play in it. All of our new faces are proof that plans on paper are becoming reality. At the same time, we set a new record for the number of hires in one day with the recruitment of 27 colleagues. The actual organisation of the training, equipping colleagues with protective equipment and coordinating the signing of all the documents was quite a challenge, but colleagues coped admirably and the new recruits were enthusiastic about the information from the first day.

Training zone

All new operators are already in our training zone, which we have prepared for them. It's a place where they can learn how to make seats in a safe environment that allows room for error. The training zone is a concept we're really proud of - it allows us to train new colleagues so they're ready for live operation. Our colleagues from China, who were responsible for the production of the first samples and have now come to the Czech Republic, are helping us with the learning process and passing on their knowledge to our newcomers. After the first two weeks, our colleagues are able to assemble the seats independently. We are very happy that our efforts have the first real outlines.

Training for new suppliers in BMW Dingolfing and Landshut

The entire management team spent two days at the beginning of March at BMW in Landshut and Dingolfing for "Zero Defect Supply Chain" training. This is BMW's official training for new suppliers on their production systems and expectations from suppliers. They opened up the cards for us and it was incredibly beneficial. BMW professionals shared their years of experience with us and we took away valuable insights that will help us meet even the highest customer expectations.

New offices

And lest I forget - we finally moved into our new offices! After a long wait, we all finally have our own desk in a space where we will be operating long-term. It's such a symbol that we are no longer a "project on paper", but a real company with a real background.

When I look back on all this, I realize how far we have come in a year. From the initial thoughts and ideas to a functioning company with dozens of employees, its own building with the first production operators. And it's all thanks to the people who believe in this project and push it forward every day.

Do you want to be part of our story? Whether you're interested in working in manufacturing, technology or administration, be sure to drop me a line. And who knows - maybe I'll feature you in a future article as a new member of our growing team.
